Akin Advises Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners on £620 Million Renewables Impact Fund
Contact:
(London) – Akin has advised Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, a specialist investment manager focused exclusively on the infrastructure needed to deliver the energy transition, on its final close of the U.K.-focused Quinbrook Renewables Impact Fund (QRIF). Quinbrook raised £620 million of investor commitments to QRIF’s strategy, substantially exceeding the initial £500 million target.
QRIF is Quinbrook’s third managed fund and is strongly aligned with the U.K. Government’s goals of a decarbonized U.K. power system by 2035, improved energy security and the “Levelling Up” agenda. The U.K.’s ambition to deliver a 100% decarbonized power system represents an unprecedented £375 billion new investment and asset creation opportunity that will support robust U.K. climate risk resilience, accelerate industrial decarbonization, deliver improved energy affordability, the security of domestic energy supplies and offer highly skilled ‘green jobs.’
Akin has advised Quinbrook since their establishment in 2015. The team for this transaction was led by investment funds partner Daniel Quinn and counsel Chris Jeanes. They were supported by associates Benedict Watson and Matthew Allan.
