Akin Continues Global Special Situations & Private Credit Growth with Addition of Tarun Warriar in Hong Kong

(Hong Kong) – Akin today announced that Tarun Warriar has joined as a partner in the firm’s special situations & private credit team. Tarun is based in Akin’s Hong Kong office and joins from Värde Partners, a leading global alternative investment firm, where he was a managing director.
Tarun advises on special situations investments, restructurings and contentious matters across public and private markets. He also advises on legal and commercial matters in the asset management industry, including investment funds matters, derivatives and issues relating to portfolio companies. Prior to joining Värde Partners, he was a partner in the restructuring and special situations team at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
Tarun’s arrival broadens Akin’s global special situations & private credit offering by adding dedicated experience in Asia. Working closely with Hong Kong partners Steven Franklin and Daniel Cohen, he will also expand the firm’s investor-focused corporate practice in the region.
