(New York) – Akin Gump is pleased to share that a transaction on which it advised clients has been named a finalist for The Deal Awards 2022.
“Mallinckrodt Overcomes Objections to Win Plan Confirmation in Complex Case” is on the shortlist for Restructuring of the Year. Akin Gump led the representation of the Mallinckrodt official committee of creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Mallinckrodt plc and its affiliated debtors. Mallinckrodt is an American-Irish pharmaceutical company that produced a significant percentage of the generic and branded opioid products in the U.S.
The Deal Awards “recognize and celebrate the advisers, firms and banks driving the market forward,” according to organizers. Winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony in New York on September 27.
In April, Akin Gump financial restructuring partner Sara Brauner was named an Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer by Turnarounds & Workouts for her role in the Mallinckrodt matter (learn more here).
