Akin Gump Advises Memorial Resource Development in Exchange of Oil and Gas Properties

(Houston) – Akin Gump served as legal advisor to Memorial Resource Development Corp. (MRD) in a transaction with Memorial Production Partners LP (MEMP).
As part of the transaction, MRD exchanged its East Texas and non-core Louisiana properties for all of MEMP’s interests in the Terryville Field in North Louisiana and cash consideration of approximately $78 million, subject to customary purchase price adjustments. The transaction closed on February 23, and has an effective date of January 1.
John Goodgame, a partner in Akin Gump’s oil and gas practice, led the team from the firm advising Memorial. Other lawyers involved included tax partner Thomas Weir, oil and gas counsel Cody Carper and oil and gas associate Rahul Vashi.
