Akin Gump Advises Rizvi Traverse Management in Potential Sale of SESAC to Blackstone

(New York) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce it served as legal advisor to private equity firm Rizvi Traverse Management in its potential sale of music rights organization SESAC to funds affiliated with Blackstone. The transaction, for which financial terms were not disclosed, is expected to close by the end of the first quarter. Akin Gump previously represented Rizvi Traverse Management in its acquisition of SESAC in December 2012.

Partner David Antheil, counsel Jonathan Pavlich and Eric Wexler and associate Amanda Lui comprised the M&A team that led the transaction. Partner Stuart Leblang, co-head of the tax practice, and counsel David Snyder advised on tax aspects of the transaction.
