(London) – For the fifth consecutive year, Akin Gump has placed among the top 10 firms in Global Restructuring Review’s GRR 30, a ranking of the standout firms among the GRR 100. This year, the firm ranked third in the world.
Among the firm’s recent work highlights, the publication noted the group’s representation of private placement noteholders of ED&F Man in its $1.9 billion restructuring; an ad hoc group of creditors in the merger of Premier Oil with Chrysaor Holdings Limited and the restructuring of Premier Oil’s $2.7 billion of debt; the private placement noteholders of NAC Aviation 29 DAC in ongoing financial restructuring negotiations which exceed $6 billion; an ad hoc group of priority guaranteed noteholders in the financial restructuring of Noble Corporation plc’s. $4 billion of debt; the voluntary administrators of Virgin Australia in its AUD$6 billion restructuring; and an ad hoc group of noteholders of Valaris in its $7.1 billion restructuring.
The GRR 100 is the result of 12 months’ research and evaluation, including client interviews and detailed questionnaires completed by hundreds of law firms on practice history, notable cases, key names and case totals/value of debt restructured.
This recognition comes on the heels of the firm’s Band 1 placement in the Restructuring/Insolvency category of the 2022 edition of Chambers UK, and its top-tier placement in the Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency category in The Legal 500 United Kingdom.
