Ms. Pashin advises clients on the tax aspects of a broad range of mergers, acquisitions and private equity transactional matters, with a focus on the energy/oil & gas sector. She joins Akin Gump from Shearman & Sterling.
Throughout her career, Ms. Pashin has developed substantial tax structuring experience for clients in the energy space and more broadly. This includes representing public and private oil & gas companies, midstream companies, private equity investors and management teams on various structuring aspects of upstream oil & gas asset acquisitions and divestitures, drilling joint venture transactions, midstream joint ventures and like-kind exchanges.
The arrival of Ms. Pashin follows on from recent growth of the firm’s Dallas and Fort Worth offices, which recently saw the additions of energy-focused corporate partners Wesley Williams, Jessica Hammons, Jesse Betts and Cole Bredthauer. (Learn more here and here.)

Regarding her move to Akin Gump, Ms. Pashin commented, “Akin Gump is well-established as a leading firm in Texas, and the breadth and depth of the firm’s energy work makes it an ideal platform for my practice. Given its commitment to growth in Dallas and throughout Texas, I know Akin Gump will be a great fit, and I am excited to get to work on behalf of the firm’s clients.”
Ms. Pashin received her J.D. magna cum laude from the SMU Dedman School of Law, where she was articles editor of the SMU Law Review and received the Order of the Coif. She received her B.B.A. with honors from the University of Texas at Austin.
