Akin Hires Jeff Westcott as Director, Practice Technology & AI Innovation

(London) – Akin is pleased to announce that Jeff Westcott has rejoined the firm as director of practice technology & AI innovation, where he will further enhance the firm’s legal technology innovation efforts with a focus on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies to enhance client service.
A legal technologist with more than 20 years of experience managing teams, projects, operations and innovation, Westcott has been at the forefront of launching the use of innovative generative AI tools in the legal industry. Westcott earned his Bachelor of Science from The University of Manchester and his MBA from Bayes Business School.

Based in the firm’s London office, Westcott will report to Chief Information Officer Aaron Ruleman and will help advance an ongoing strategic program of technology initiatives that contribute to the firm’s innovation strategy, roadmap and portfolio.

The firm recently announced the addition of a three-partner technology transactions team in London, adding to Akin’s top-tier technology transactions platform, with Justin Stock joining as head of the firm’s international technology practice, along with Stephen Rosen and David Bresnick.
