Elizabeth Simon Appointed Chair of DC Bar Legal Ethics Committee

(Washington, D.C.) – Elizabeth Simon, who serves as ethics attorney within Akin Gump’s Office of General Counsel, has been appointed chair of the DC Bar Legal Ethics Committee. On July 1, upon completion of her appointment as vice-chair of the committee, Ms. Simon will assume her new position, in which capacity she will serve for a year.
As committee chair, she will lead its 11 active members of the DC Bar and 4 non-lawyer members as it issues formal opinions interpreting the rules under specific factual situations and issues informal guidance to the approximately 100,000 D.C. licensed lawyers.
