Her Justice Recognizes Lauren Connell and Akin Gump with Commitment to Justice Awards

(New York) – Her Justice, a nonprofit organization that provides free legal services to low-income women in matrimonial, family and immigration law, has recognized Akin Gump pro bono counsel Lauren Connell for her contributions to the organization, as part of its 2021 Commitment to Justice Awards.
In addition, Her Justice has selected Akin Gump’s New York Women Firmwide Resource Group and its New York Associates Committee to receive an award for their exceptional fundraising efforts in support of the organization’s Shift the Power Campaign, which helps advance economic justice for women living in poverty in New York City.
Last year, Akin Gump tax partner Geoffrey Secol received Her Justice’s Partner Award (click here to learn more), and in 2016, Akin Gump was the winner of Her Justice’s inaugural Firm Commitment Award, given to the law firm averaging the most hours of pro bono services per lawyer on behalf of the organization. Akin Gump has been active in Her Justice’s pro bono program since 2000, with chairperson Kim Koopersmith serving as a past vice chair of its board of directors.
