Joe Hewton Named a City Year UK London Bridge Builder Award Winner

(London) – Akin Gump financial regulatory associate Joe Hewton has been named by City Year UK as the winner of this year’s London Bridge Builder award at the City Year Graduation Ceremony.
The award recognizes those who have, in their spare time, offered to mentor City Year’s young volunteers, helping to prepare them for staying in school or finding a career. The support includes mock interviews, résumé workshops and assistance in deciding on one’s next steps.
City Year is an education-oriented nonprofit whose mission is to empower young role models to help children from disadvantaged communities succeed in school. Founded in 1988 and part of the AmeriCorps national service network, City Year partners with public schools in urban, high-poverty communities across the United States and internationally via City Year UK and City Year South Africa to help students stay in school and graduate.
