Honorees were selected by the LABJ editorial team on the basis of a demonstrated impact on the individual’s profession and on the Los Angeles community.
Mr. Bermudez was noted as “a recognized leader in his field” for the critical roles that he plays in significant corporate transactions on behalf of some of Akin Gump’s largest clients, such as Kingston Technology Company, Inc. and VCA, Inc.
The published profile notes his role representing Kingston in headline-making deals, such as the $425-million multijurisdictional, carve-out sale of its HyperX gaming division to HP (learn more here) and in its $18 billion sale of Toshiba Memory Corporation (TMC) to K.K. He is also noted for negotiating a favorable long-term memory supply agreement with TMC and investment documents that protected Kingston’s interests as part of the consortium.
