Raphael Prober Named an NLJ D.C. Rising Star

(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump congressional investigations practice co-head Raphael Prober has been recognized as one of the top young practitioners in the nation’s capital by The National Law Journal in its 2017 D.C. Rising Star feature.
Among the factors considered by the publication in assembling this list are “success on the highest stages, diversity of practice groups and law firms…[and] recommendations.”
In the Q&A profile published by NLJ, Mr. Prober noted, among his responses, that his biggest win or accomplishment in practice was “[r]epresenting Holocaust survivors and family members pro bono in connection with death camp deportations by the French national railroad. This involved litigation, legislation, state and federal legislative hearings and a complex outreach campaign, culminating in [France's] establishment of a $60 million compensation fund.” (learn more here)
He also noted, in response to a question regarding a key to his success, that he always treats people with respect, “[w]hether I’m providing counsel to a client or in a contentious negotiation with opposing counsel,” and that the most valuable lesson he learned as a first-year associate was “[t]he importance of attention to detail and ensuring that whatever task I was performing, even if only a building block in a larger matter [was] done flawlessly.
Mr. Prober pointed to his practice co-head Steven Ross as his greatest lawyer mentor, for having taught him to “always perform at the highest levels, stay cool under pressure and build strong relationships with clients, co-counsel and opposing counsel alike.”
