(Houston) – Akin Gump energy partner Christopher Centrich has been selected as one of the Rising Stars in The Deal’s “Dealmaker Quarterly.” Promoted to partner at the beginning of this year, Mr. Centrich was named one of the 21 “most promising new M&A partners of 2019.”
The Deal notes that Mr. Centrich focuses his practice primarily on mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings and private equity financings, corporate finance transactions, securities law compliance and other general corporate matters. Most recently, he was part of the Akin Gump team that advised Cimarex Energy Co. on its pending acquisition of Resolute Energy Corp. (Click here to read more.) In August 2017, he advised Genesis Energy LP on its $1.3 billion acquisition of Tronox Ltd.’s alkali business. (Click here to read more.)
Mr. Centrich tells the publication what he likes most about working on M&A transactions “is the ability to blend the legal and business aspects of a deal.” He recognizes that he can play “a significant role in guiding negotiating strategy, finding commercial solutions to potential issues and guiding the transaction process from start to finish.”
Chris LaFollette, partner in charge of Akin Gump’s Houston office, described Mr. Centrich as “the guy who takes the most complicated deal, gets everyone on board and closes it timely.”
