Biography

Licensed to practice in North Carolina only and under the supervision of the partners of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. Application for admission to the District of Columbia Bar in process.

  • Advises U.S. and non-U.S. clients on various international trade law and regulation matters, including U.S. economic sanctions, export controls and government investigations.
  • Advises U.S. and multinational companies on international trade matters arising in cross-border commercial transactions.

Amy is an associate in the international trade practice advising clients on a wide range of international trade matters, focusing on compliance and regulatory issues related to U.S. export control and economic sanctions matters. She also assists in investigations pertaining to international trade and national security issues. Amy regularly advises on international trade issues affecting cross-border transactions.

Before joining Akin, she was an associate at another large global law firm in Washington, D.C. where she provided strategic counsel to investors in navigating national security reviews before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) in addition to other international trade matters. She earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law, where she served as executive managing editor of the Emory International Law Review, and she received Emory Law’s “Clinical Association Award for Outstanding Clinical Student” for her work conducted with Emory’s International Humanitarian Law Clinic.
