Advises issuers and investors in connection with private equity transactions, special situations and distressed corporate transactions, and preferred and structured equity financings.
Ben is an associate in the firm’s corporate practice, where he advises clients on a range of corporate matters. He assists public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, governance, and general corporate matters. Ben also advises on special situations and distressed corporate transactions, as well as preferred and structured equity financings.
Prior to joining Akin, Ben was an associate at a leading Silicon Valley law firm, where he represented emerging technology companies and venture capital funds in various transactions, including venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic partnerships. He has represented several leading venture capital firms, their respective portfolio companies, and a wide variety of technology companies including consumer internet, software, telecommunications, crypto, life science, artificial intelligence, data analytic and entertainment technology industries.
Ben received his J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. He was an editor of the Berkeley Business Law Jornal and Berkeley Journal of Entertainment & Sports Law. He also holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Michigan, where he was an Angell Scholar and held University Honors.
