Crystal focuses her practice on securities offerings, contract drafting, and securities issues related to mergers and acquisitions. She advises private equity fund and corporate clients on securities law compliance and corporate governance matters. Crystal’s experience includes crafting strategies for compliance with Sections 13(d) and 16 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as well as drafting and filing Schedules 13D and G, Forms 13F and 13H, and Forms 3, 4 and 5.
Prior to joining Akin, Crystal was an attorney at a major global law firm. She previously interned with the SEC, working alongside SEC attorneys to gain experience examining company filings for compliance with federal securities laws.
Crystal earned her J.D. from Howard Law School, where she graduated cum laude and served as the Senior Articles Editor for the Howard Law Journal.
