- Advises U.S. and international clients on various international trade law matters, including U.S. economic sanctions, export controls, and anti-money laundering regulations.
- Conducts corporate diligence and advises on compliance investigations and related licensing and disclosure matters.
Dariya advises clients on a wide range of international trade matters, including compliance and regulatory issues related to U.S. export control and economic sanctions matters.
While at law school, Dariya worked at Akin as an analyst. In that role, she gained significant experience conducting corporate diligence in cross-border transactions, providing risk assessment, and helping clients with internal compliance and government-led investigations. She also helped advise clients on regulatory developments and legislative policy on international trade topics. Her work on a complex money-laundering investigation resulted in a historical repatriation of stolen assets to a sovereign client.
She received a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, with honors, where she earned highest grades in numerous international trade-related courses. She has a master’s degree in international relations from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, and received dual B.S. degrees in international economics and political science, with honors, from Texas Christian University.
