David brings over two decades of distinguished experience in legislative advocacy, regulatory strategy and leadership across both the public and private sectors. His extensive background, which includes senior policy advisory roles for current Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) and as Chief Government Affairs and Policy Officer for the Alliance for Automotive Innovation—the nation’s largest automotive trade association—positions him as a formidable advocate and strategic leader. David’s deep policy and regulatory experience enables him to build consensus and drive effective solutions for his clients.
During his tenure on Capitol Hill, David served as Legislative Director for Leader Thune, where he developed and communicated the Senator’s policy priorities on tax, trade, transportation, defense, energy and water, renewable energy, agriculture and economic growth. He later served as Staff Director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation during Leader Thune’s terms as both Chair and Ranking Member. In this role, he advanced 32 legislative measures into law during a single session, demonstrating his exceptional ability to navigate complex legislative processes for a Committee with an expansive reach covering issues from communications, highways, aviation, rail, shipping, transportation security, merchant marine, the Coast Guard, oceans, fisheries, weather, disasters, science, space, interstate commerce, tourism, consumer issues, economic development, technology, competitiveness, product safety, and insurance.
