Biography
  • Representing an agribusiness during a second request (DOJ) - ultimately the transaction received European Commission clearance in a $34 billion global merger between Bunge and Viterra.
  • Representing a big-tech client as they navigated compliance requirements regarding the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
  • Counseling an institution of higher education in a private class action price-fixing lawsuit.
  • Advising high-profiled consortiums and business’ in their antitrust compliance strategies whilst pursuing ESG-related goals.

Donna Faye assists clients with antitrust counseling and litigation, mergers and international trade matters. Her capabilities expand to working on counseling matters for ESG initiatives as well as filings to the Committee of Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).

Prior to joining Akin, Donna Faye was an antitrust litigation associate at a global law firm in Washington, D.C. She previously worked as a law clerk with the Honorable Richard E. Moore at the 16th Judicial Circuit Court in the state of Virginia. Additionally, she was a summer law clerk at the Federal Trade Commission’s Tech Enforcement Division.

She serves as the president of the Council of American Ambassadors Annenberg Fellowship Alumni Association, as a former U.S. CAA Annenberg Fellow at the U.S. State Department, invited to return from her previous role as an intern at the U.S. State Department. She also formerly interned on Capitol Hill in the U.S. House of Representatives.

She earned her J.D. from University of Virgnia School of Law, where she served as the international law and current events news editor of Virginia Law Weekly. During law school at the University of Virginia School of Law she was a new writer for the Virginia Law Weekly, vice president of Virginia Law Women, and recognized as a Ritter Scholarship Award Recipient for honor, character and integrity. She received a B.A. in conflict analysis & resolution and global affairs from George Mason University.
