Edan advises clients on corporate restructuring matters and distressed transactions, including in-court and of out-of-court restructuring.
Committed to his clients’ needs, Edan’s experience spans a variety of industries, such as oil and gas, technology, apparel and manufacturing. His speed and work ethic ensure that his clients’ transactions are finalized in cost-effective time frames.
Prior to joining Akin, Edan served as law clerk to the Honorable John K. Sherwood and the Honorable Donald H. Steckroth (Ret.) at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of New Jersey.
- Diamond Sports: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Diamond Sports Group and its affiliates, an operator of regional sports broadcast networks for more than 40 teams across Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League and the National Basketball Association, involving more than $8 billion in liabilities.
- Purdue Pharma: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Purdue Pharma and its affiliates, the privately held pharmaceutical company and maker of OxyContin, involving over a trillion dollars of asserted claims.
- Steward Health Care: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 case of Steward Health Care, the largest private, physician-led health care network in the U.S.
- Mallinckrodt: Counsel to the Official Committee of Opioid Related Claimants in the chapter 11 cases of Mallinckrodt and its affiliates, an American-Irish pharmaceuticals company, involving hundreds of billions of dollars of asserted claims. Restructuring of the Year (The Deal)
- TPC: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of TPC Group and its affiliates, a petrochemical manufacturing company, with $1.3 billion in funded debt obligations and hundreds of millions of dollars in tort liabilities. - Outcome Health: Counsel to an informal group of secured lenders of Outcome Health, a technology start-up company.
