- Represents public and private companies and individuals in internal, government and congressional investigations.
Emily’s practice covers a variety of litigation matters, including: government, regulatory and congressional investigations; complex commercial litigations; white collar defense and pro bono work.
Representative Work
- Defended a major financial institution in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) investigation involving the valuation of mortgage-backed securities. The client avoided reputational harm and monetary penalties when the SEC closed its year-long investigation without taking any adverse or enforcement action against the client.
- Represented an investment funds portfolio company in a breach of fiduciary duty and stock valuation trial in the New York State Commercial Division. At the conclusion of trial, plaintiff agreed to settle claims on very favorable terms for our client.
- Represented an individual in parallel investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice, European Commission and Canadian Competition Bureau related to alleged bond manipulation.
- Defended a large hedge fund in a multiyear investigation by the SEC related to conflicts of interest.
