Biography

Emony is an associate in the firm’s financial restructuring practice. She advises debtors, creditors and other interested parties, in complex chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings. Emony’s experience extends across a variety of industries.

Prior to joining Akin as an associate, Emony served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Craig T. Goldblatt for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Emony earned her J.D. from Howard University School of Law, where she was the captain of the Charles Hamilton Houston National Moot Court Team. As captain, Emony led Howard in placing first at the 2022 Duberstein Competition. This win marks the first time a historically black college or university placed first at the Duberstein Competition. During her time at Howard Law, Emony was an Akin summer associate and a Strauss Diversity & Inclusion Scholar and later clerked for Bankruptcy Judge Goldblatt upon graduation. She earned her B.S. cum laude from Cornell University.
