- Advises managers in the investment management industry, assisting with the formation and ongoing operation of alternative investment products.
Hugo focuses primarily on the structuring, formation and ongoing maintenance of domestic and offshore hedge funds employing traditional strategies, as well as specialised strategies. He also advises on the implications of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive and the FCA Handbook, amongst other regulatory considerations.
Hugo has advised a range of fund managers across Europe and the U.S., ranging from large household name clients to smaller and startup managers.
Prior to joining Akin, Hugo trained as a solicitor at another large international law firm and qualified into their investment funds practice.
