- Represents clients in federal and state court in a variety of matters, including complex commercial litigation and white collar defense.
Ilana represents individuals, investment funds, financial institutions and public and private companies in sensitive internal investigations and high-stakes white collar defense matters involving criminal and regulatory issues. She also has strong experience in conducting internal investigations involving public companies and other organizations.
Prior to joining Akin, Ilana was an associate at a law firm based in New York City. She previously served as an assistant district attorney for the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn and as a senior attorney in the Office of General Counsel of a law firm based in New York City.
Ilana is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School where she served as an editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.
- Advised Chief Financial Officer of a foreign conglomerate in connection with a DOJ investigation.
- Represented a prominent hedge fund in arbitration proceedings concerning various employment issues.
- Served as counsel to investment funds client in litigation related to its rights as a preferred shareholder of a large international insurance company.
- Represent the official committee of unsecured creditors of bank holding company in maximizing value of creditor recovery through investigation of estate claims.
