- Focuses on commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on contested matters and adversarial proceedings arising in complex Chapter 11 cases.
Jeff Latov represents and advises lenders, bondholders, institutional investors, hedge funds and other interested parties in connection with commercial litigation, contested bankruptcy proceedings and corporate restructurings.
Jeff received a J.D. in 2016 from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he served as the Business Manager for volume 37 of the Cardozo Law Review and as an Alexander Fellow for the Honorable Shira Scheindlin for the District Court of the Southern District of New York. Jeff graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Order of the Coif.
In pro bono matters, Jeff has represented multiple clients in immigration and custody cases and has successfully obtained lawful permanent resident status for a family of asylees and victims of human trafficking. Jeff has also consulted for Lawyers without Borders in multiple cross-organization initiatives to combat human trafficking, child labor and wildlife poaching in developing countries.
- Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Sears and its affiliate in connection with an investigation and prosecution of estate claims.
- Represented a private investment fund in a wide range of commercial and bankruptcy litigation relating to fund investments in portfolio companies.
- Represented crypto-finance firm Celsius Network LLC and its affiliated debtors in connection with a dispute concerning a $50 million Simple Agreement for Future Equity.
