Jessica Maloney provides strategic advice on a range of environmental and climate regulatory, policy, litigation and transactional matters. Informed by her scientific background and prior environmental litigation experience, Jessica uses her dual training to effectively represent clients on a range of environmental issues, including the complex and rapidly evolving legal issues related to ESG and climate change.
Jessica’s practice includes providing strategic advice on climate change risk, ESG considerations and compliance assistance. When legal risks materialize in the form of enforcement or litigation, Jessica represents clients in civil and criminal proceedings, developing defensive litigation strategies and reaching optimal resolutions. Jessica also advises lenders, sellers and buyers on evaluating the environmental liabilities associated with commercial, multifamily and industrial transactions.
Prior to joining the firm, Jessica was an associate at a boutique environmental law firm. During law school, she was a member of the Administrative Law Review—the official law journal of the American Bar Association Section of Administrative Law & Regulatory Practice—and was Executive Editor of the American University Sustainable Development Law & Policy Brief.
Before law school, Jessica studied environmental science, climate change, marine science and coastal zone management. While studying for her undergraduate and master’s degrees, she traveled to Panama, Vietnam, China and the Pacific Ocean’s North Pacific Subtropical Gyre to study coastal zone management, international water resource conflicts and marine microplastics.
