Joe is an associate in the firm’s financial restructuring practice. He represents both domestic and international clients in a variety of complex restructuring matters and advises creditors and other stakeholders in chapter 11 proceedings.
Joe was an Akin summer associate. Prior to joining the firm, Joe was legal extern in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Prior to that, he was a judicial Intern for the Honorable Katharine H. Parker, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Joe earned his B.A. from New York University and his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was assistant executive editor for the Columbia Journal of Law and Social Problems.
- Alex Jones: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors, on a pro bono basis, in the chapter 11 case of right-wing media personality Alex Jones, which was commenced following the entry of more than $1.5 billion in state court judgments against Jones and his company, Free Speech Systems, as a result of Jones’s defamatory comments regarding the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
- Yellow Corporation: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Yellow Corporation, an American-based trucking and transportation services company that operated one of the largest less-than-truckload networks in North America, involving over $1.2 billion of liabilities.
- Endo International: Counsel to the Official Committee of Opioid Claimants in the chapter 11 cases of Endo International and its affiliates, an American-Irish generics and specialty branded pharmaceutical company, involving hundreds of billions of dollars of asserted claims.
