Katherine primarily focuses her practice on litigation. Katherine concentrates on litigation arising in and out of financial restructuring matters, as well as other complex commercial litigation. She has experience across a range of contested matters, adversarial proceedings and appeals in chapter 11 proceedings, as well as litigations in state and federal courts and mediations.
She has represented clients in:

- First Amendment defamation and libel matters
Katherine maintains a strong pro bono practice, where her work focuses on immigration law, family law and efforts to combat human trafficking.
- Represented official committee of unsecured creditors of company in maximizing value of creditor recovery through investigation of estate claims, including fraudulent transfer, breach of fiduciary duty and preference claims.
- Represented purchaser of assets of a large bankrupt company in significant litigation and numerous appeals in a bid to complete the sale of debtor’s core assets at a bankruptcy auction; successfully litigated challenges, and the assets were sold and various contracts assumed and assigned over litigated challenges.
- Achieved dismissal of claims against a hedge fund in a suit under the Commodities Exchange Act, antitrust statutes and RICO for allegedly partaking in conspiracy to manipulate LIBOR.
- Assisting publisher in the review of certain material prior to publication, assessing the potential for defamation and/or libel suits.
- Providing counsel to a litigation trust created pursuant to bankruptcy plan of reorganization in pursuing billions of dollars of claims, including fraudulent transfer, preference and breach of fiduciary duty claims, related to the leveraged buy-out transaction that gave rise to the bankruptcy.
