- Practice focuses on regulatory and enforcement issues in the health care sector, as well as health policy and legislation.
Maddy is an associate in the health care and life sciences practice. She advises clients on a range of regulatory, enforcement and policy matters, including the False Claims Act and matters involving fraud investigations.
Prior to law school, Maddy was a research manager for a public health nonprofit in Washington, D.C. and served as a project director and research assistant for a national political and public affairs research firm.
Maddy earned her J.D. with honors from The University of Texas School of Law, where she was an executive editor for the Texas International Law Journal and served as a research assistant. During law school, she was the founding co-President of the Texas Health Law Society and was involved in the Domestic Violence Clinic, the Children’s Rights Clinic, and completed pro bono work for the Parole and Expunction Projects. She also served as a legal intern for Whitman-Walker Health in Washington, D.C. in conjunction with her summer position as a Pro Bono Scholar at Akin. Maddy graduated with a B.A. in public policy and global health from Duke University with a minor in economics.
Maddy was a 2022 Pro Bono Scholar and a member of Akin’s 2023 summer associate class.
