Mark is an associate in the firm’s corporate group. He assists public and private companies in corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and other general corporate matters, including transactions involving companies in distress and special situations.
Prior to joining Akin, Mark was a corporate associate at another multinational law firm based in New York City.
Mark earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law, and his M.B.A. from Leonard N. Stern School of Business, where he served as developments editor for the NYU Journal of International Law and Politics. He received his B.A. from Cornell University.
- Represented New Mountain Capital and Energy Impact Partners in their growth investment in Site 20/20, a technology company providing hardware and software solutions for the traffic control and road construction industries.
- Represented FB Debt Financing Guarantor LLC and certain of subsidiaries (Forma Brands), a builder of top beauty brands, including Morphe®, Morphe 2®, Jaclyn Cosmetics® and Born Dreamer®, in their chapter 11 cases to address approximately $870 million of funded indebtedness, facilitate a going-concern 363 sale transaction for substantially all assets and resolve numerous complex licensing and potential litigation issues.
- Represented an ad hoc group of first and second lien lenders of CHC Group LLC, the global rotary wing aviation services provider, with respect to, among other things, approximately $100 million of new money financing and an out-of-court exchange involving up to approximately $500 million of existing first and second lien debt.
- Represented Jefferson River Capital LLC in connection with its acquisition of Follett Corporation and its subsidiaries, a leading provider of education technology, services and physical and digital content.
- Represented THL in its acquisition of Intelligent Medical Objects, a health care data enablement provider, from Warburg Pincus.
- Represented Astra, a rocket launch startup that provides satellite delivery service, in its acquisition of Apollo Fusion, a leading electric propulsion engine manufacturer, and in its $2.1 billion business combination with HoliCity, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).
