Matt is an associate in the firm’s litigation practice. He assists clients in a variety of litigation matters.
Prior to joining Akin, Matt was a clinical fellow at Harvard Law School's Religious Freedom Clinic. He also previously clerked for the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Honorable Michael Truncale of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Before his clerkships, he worked as a legal fellow in Uganda doing public justice reform work.
Matt earned his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law, where he served as a literary citation editor for the Pepperdine Law Review. He was also president of the Christian Legal Society.
