He is familiar with representation of clients before Department of Justice (DOJ), the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), Office of Foreign Assets Controls (OFAC), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) for matters including, but not limited to export license application, U.S. trade blacklist removal request, government investigation, request for advisory opinion, and classification request. He also routinely assists clients with high-stake crisis management and litigation planning in response to the frequently changing international trade regulatory environment.
As part of his practice to support international companies to navigate through the complex international trade regulatory environment, Marcus also has experience providing labor and employment compliance and litigation defense to multinational companies. His experience in labor and employment compliance matters include coordinating with attorneys in multiple jurisdictions worldwide to conduct global surveys on employment-related law and regulations for multinational companies to manage potential litigation and compliance risks. He also played a key role in a labor dispute before a state court in California as he managed the case from answer to settlement, including the discovery, strategy formulation, mediation, and settlement agreement negotiation.
