Ryan is a political and policy professional who uses his deep knowledge of Washington, D.C. and his senior-level connections to help clients achieve their federal policy goals in the areas of energy and energy transition, transportation, infrastructure, technology and national security. As a former U.S. Senate Chief of Staff, Ryan is known for his connectivity and government process knowledge with a long track record of success in high stakes, “bet the company” federal problem solving. He has a deep level of experience in multiple public policy arenas that complement the complex and varied matters on which he is regularly engaged.
- Energy and Energy Transition: Represents both renewable and conventional energy companies before the U.S. Congress, the White House, the Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of the Interior. Helps clients navigate the complex regulatory environment and secure the success needed to move their priorities and projects forward.
- Transportation and Infrastructure: Professional level engagement with Congress and the Department of Transportation (Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Maritime Administration (MARAD), Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)) on the regulation of aviation, marine, rail and surface transportation. Helps clients traverse the federal regulatory process for infrastructure projects and advises clients on public-private partnerships and other innovative infrastructure project financing.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI), Technology and Defense: Advise defense and technology clients on their interaction with Congress and the Department of Defense (DOD); leading client teams to develop strategies to secure pathways and funding for client priorities. Adept at navigating the defense/tech start-up landscape with the various stakeholders supporting this critical innovation inside the DOD.
- Private Equity and Venture Capital: Supports private equity and venture capital firms as they evaluate, analyze and look to mitigate political risk and amplify political opportunity in Washington, D.C.
