- Maintains a broad investment management practice, advising fund managers, sponsors and investors.
Safal advises and represents clients with respect to all aspects of the structuring, formation and operation of alternative investment funds, including private equity, credit, real estate, infrastructure and hedge funds. He helps market participants with a variety of strategies, including related carried interest and co-investment arrangements.
Prior to joining Akin, Safal was an associate attorney at other U.S. headquartered law firms where, in addition to his work representing sponsors on the formation and operation of their alternative investment funds, he represented numerous sovereign wealth funds and other institutional investors on their investments into fund and co-investment structures.
Safal earned his LL.B. Bachelor of Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Science and completed a L.P.C. from BPP University.

- An institutional asset manager on its stressed, distressed, and event-driven situations fund with a final fund size of $2.4 billion.
- A private equity real estate firm on the formation of a $1.5 billion fund and co-investment structure.
- A private equity real estate manager on the formation of a $2.6 billion real estate fund.
- Several leading GCC sovereign wealth funds in fund investments across various strategies as well as in co-investment structures.
