Biography
- Focuses on representing creditors and debtors in both in- and out-of-court restructurings.
Sam is an associate in the firm’s financial restructuring practice. She advises creditors, debtors and other stakeholders in complex cross-border chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructuring transactions.
Prior to joining Akin, Sam worked at Baylor Law School and previously was an associate in the financial restructuring group of another international firm.
Representative Work
- Revlon: Counsel to Revlon and certain of its subsidiaries, a leading global beauty company, in their chapter 11 cases involving $3.7 billion of debt.
- Digicel: Counsel to an ad hoc group of secured and unsecured creditors of Digicel Group, the leading provider of mobile phone networks and home entertainment services in 25 markets across the Caribbean and Central America, in its restructuring involving over $4.4 billion of funded indebtedness.
- Ryze Renewables: Counsel to Ryze and certain of its subsidiaries, a biofuel company, in their chapter 11 cases.
