Biography

Scott is an associate in the firm’s corporate practice, where he provides comprehensive assistance to clients in all aspects of commercial real estate. His experience spans acquisitions, dispositions, development, financing and leasing. Scott collaborates closely with developers, owners and lenders, ensuring seamless and effective transaction management. He also advises on a variety of construction and development projects, as well as joint ventures (JVs). Additionally, he represents real estate investment trusts (REITs), private equity firms and other financial institutions in their roles as sellers, purchasers, landlords, tenants, lenders and owners.

Before joining Akin, Scott was an associate at a national firm. He earned his J.D. from Texas A&M School of Law, where he served as Executive Editor of the Texas A&M Law Review. During his time in law school, he interned at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Scott received his B.E. from Vanderbilt University and worked as a civil engineer in land development for several years before attending law school.
