Shannon is an associate in the international trade practice. She advises clients on matters involving international trade policy and regulatory and policy developments related to trade. She also advises clients on enforcement and compliance issues related to U.S. customs and import controls, export controls and economic sanctions, and compliance with international trade laws and regulations.
Prior to joining the firm, Shannon was a judicial intern for the Honorable Paul L. Friedman of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Earlier in her career, Shannon was a senior account executive at an international public relations firm. She was a member of Akin’s 2021 summer associate class.
Shannon holds a J.D. summa cum laude from American University Washington College of Law, where she served as a senior staffer for the American University Law Review and columns editor for the Human Rights Brief. During law school, Shannon was a member the Moot Court Honor Society. She earned a B.A. magna cum laude from The George Washington University.
