Sharanya is an associate in the firm’s telecom, media and technology practice. She represents a range of clients in the telecommunications and technology industry, including wireless companies, media content and service providers, industry associations and investors. Sharanya assists clients on a variety of matters before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), including regulatory licensing, rulemaking and compliance.
Previously, Sharanya served as a product policy associate for Meta developing content policy, and as a management consulting associate for a global business consulting firm implementing cloud business models for technology and telecommunications clients.
Sharanya earned her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law, where she was a Teaching Quizmaster for first-year legal writing courses and a staff editor for the Texas International Law Journal. During law school, she served as president of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association and completed pro bono work with Texas Law’s INCLUDE Project involving special education law. She also served as a legal intern in the Office of the General Counsel of U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in conjunction with her summer as an Akin Pro Bono Scholar. She graduated with honors from Georgetown University with a B.S.F.S. in International Politics and a certificate in International Development.
Sharanya was a 2021 Pro Bono Scholar and a member of Akin’s 2022 summer associate class.
