Vince Jones is an associate in the intellectual property practice with a particular focus on the life sciences.
Vince graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's Carey Law School in May 2022. During his time in law school, Vince served as the treasurer of Penn Law Veterans and participated in the Detkin Intellectual Property Clinic, in which he represented pro bono clients in patent, trademark, and IP licensing matters. Vince was also a member of the Penn Law Inn of Court chapter, for which he assisted in a presentation on ethical issues in court pleadings to judges, practitioners, and fellow law students. He also served as a judicial intern for the Supreme Court of Delaware.
Prior to law school, Vince received his Pharm.D. in pharmacy from the University of Georgia. Afterwards, Vince worked as a pharmacist in both the retail and hospital settings.
Vince also served in the United States Navy from 2011 to 2022, earning three personal awards, various unit citations, and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal. Vince achieved the rank of lieutenant commander.
Vince received his B.S. in biology from the University of Georgia, where he worked as an assistant in two different pharmaceutical research labs—one investigating agents to mitigate stroke and the other investigating novel cancer therapies.
Vince was a member of Akin's 2021 summer associate class.
