Biography
  • Advises public and private companies in the energy industry.
  • Bilingual and bicultural with understanding of the Chinese legal system.

Allyson Li advises clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, securities law compliance, corporate governance, finance, and private equity transactions.

Before starting her legal career, Allyson worked as an internal auditor for a Fortune 500 company. That experience enhanced her understanding of client companies’ operating needs and continues to help her identify areas of concern from management’s point of view. Prior to joining Akin, she also interned for the Honorable Jeff Bohm of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Representative Work
  • Advised Rattler Midstream Partners in its $765 million initial public offering (IPO). The partnership was formed by Diamondback to own, operate, develop and acquire midstream infrastructure assets in the Midland and Delaware Basins of the Permian, one of the most prolific oil producing areas in the world.
  • Counseled Genesis Energy, L.P. in its $300 million sale of its Powder River Basin midstream business to an affiliate of Silver Creek Midstream, LLC.
  • Assisted Louisiana-based Stone Energy Corporation in its $2.5 billion merger with Talos Energy, an independent oil and gas company focused on offshore exploration.
  • Advised Valero Energy Partners LP in multiple transactions, including its recent $950 million merger with Valero Energy Corporation.
  • Advised Genesis Energy, L.P. in its $1.3 billion acquisition of Tronox Ltd.’s alkali business, the world’s largest producer of natural soda ash.
  • Assisted Hercules Offshore Liquidating Trust in its liquidating of bankruptcy estate.
  • Advised the conflicts committee of Archrock Partners, L.P. in its merger with Archrock, Inc.
  • Counseled the conflicts committee of Landmark Infrastructure Partners in its acquisition of 127 assets located in 32 states from Landmark Dividend Growth Fund–H LLC, an affiliate of the Partnership’s sponsor, Landmark Dividend LLC.
  • Advised Enterprise Products Partners L.P. in is joint venture with Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. to resume service on the Old Ocean natural gas pipeline.
