Zach focuses his practice on an array of complex financial restructuring matters. He represents companies, debtors, secured creditors, debtor in possession (DIP) lenders, hedge funds, official and unofficial committees of unsecured creditors, institutional investors, and other acquirers of businesses and assets.
Zach provides advice on chapter 11 cases of all sizes and complexity, as well as in connection with out-of-court restructurings. He routinely advises on high-stakes, cross-border matters and has experience across sectors, including energy, aviation, telecommunications, retail, media and shipping. Zach’s work on some of the largest deals in the market helped him earn recognition as a Recommended Lawyer by The Legal 500 US.
- Cineworld: Counsel to an ad hoc group of secured lenders in the chapter 11 cases of Cineworld and its affiliates, the world's second-largest movie chain, involving $4 billion in liabilities. Successful Restructurings of the Year (Turnarounds & Workouts)
- Sungard: Counsel to Sungard Availability Services and its affiliates, a global operator of colocation data and disaster recovery centers, in their chapter 11 cases involving more than $500 million in liabilities and the sale of substantially all of the company’s assets.
- Nordic Aviation Capital: Counsel to noteholders in an ad hoc group in the chapter 11 cases of Nordic Aviation Capital and its affiliates, the then-fifth largest aircraft leasing company in the world, involving $5.9 billion in liabilities. - Sears: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Sears and its affiliates, once the largest retailer in the world, involving $5.6 billion in liabilities; and, subsequently, counsel to the litigation trust board charged with prosecuting various estate claims in respect of prepetition conduct.
