Akin Gump Advises AT&T in Time Warner Acquisition

(Dallas) – Akin Gump advised AT&T Inc. in its acquisition of Time Warner Inc., which closed on June 14, bringing together global media and entertainment leaders Warner Bros., HBO and Turner with AT&T’s leadership in technology and its video, mobile and broadband customer relationships. The deal is the largest corporate merger announced in 2016 and the fifth-largest deal in recent years, with a value of approximately $108 billion, including debt.

Akin Gump Dallas litigation partner Mike Warnecke served as lead antitrust counsel for the pre-merger integration planning effort. He was joined by a multidisciplinary team spanning several practices and offices across the firm.
