Akin Gump Bond, Take-Private Deals Shortlisted for Asia Legal Awards

(Hong Kong) – The Asian Lawyer has announced that two Akin Gump deals are among the finalists for the publication’s Asia Legal Awards 2015.

In the category “Securities Deal of the Year: Debt,” Banglalink’s $300 million Rule 144A/Regulation S high-yield bond offering is one of the finalists. London corporate partners Lisa Hearn and Fred Heller led a trans-Atlantic firm team that advised Banglalink in a successful and innovative transaction that won the “Frontier Markets Issue” category at the prestigious International Financing Review Asia Awards in December 2014. Then in the category “M&A Deal of the Year: Private Equity,” Giant Interactive Group’s take-private is also a finalist. An Akin Gump deal team led by Hong Kong corporate partner and Asia practice head Greg Puff advised Duff & Phelps LLC as joint financial advisor to the Special Committee of Giant Interactive Group, one of China’s leading online game developers and operators.
