Akin Gump Clients ADWEA and ADWEC Achieve Financial Closing for World’s Largest Solar Power Project in Abu Dhabi

(Abu Dhabi) – Akin Gump clients Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA) and Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Company (ADWEC) successfully achieved financial closing for the 1,177 MW Sweihan Solar PV Independent Power Project in Abu Dhabi. As of this date, the project will be the world’s largest solar plant. The Sweihan project represents an important part of the United Arab Emirates’ clean energy plans and enhances Abu Dhabi’s regional leadership in sustainability.
