Akin Gump Deal Named TMT Finance’s “MENA TMT Deal of the Year”
(London) – TMT Finance has awarded its TMT Deal of the Year to what it called “the landmark sale of VimpelCom’s majority stake in Algerian telecom operator Djezzy to the Algerian National Investment Fund (FNI) for US$2.6bn.”
An Akin Gump team co-led by London corporate partner Dan Walsh and partner in charge Sebastian Rice advised VimpelCom Ltd in the sale by its Egyptian-listed subsidiary Global Telecom Holding of its 51 percent stake in Orascom Telecom Algérie (OTA), also known as “Djezzy.”
