Akin Gump to Be Honored for Support of Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy and Nationals Foundation

(Washington, D.C.) – For the second consecutive year, Akin Gump will be honored for its pro bono work on behalf of the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy and Nationals Foundation. The firm will be honored by the Nationals via an on-field recognition before this evening’s game at Nationals Stadium.
Among the firm’s efforts on behalf of the Academy, Akin Gump has provided pro bono legal services to the Academy and its leadership. The firm also helped create the Legal Mushball Classic, a softball charity game that brings D.C.-area law and legal services firms together to compete for a good cause. The Classic has raised more than $650,000 over the last four years in contributions to support the mission of using baseball and softball as vehicles to foster positive character development, academic achievement and improved health among youth from underserved communities in Washington, D.C.
