Michelle Mitchell Named “Trailblazer Under 40” by National Bar Association

(Washington, D.C.) – At a ceremony today in Atlanta, Georgia, during the National Bar Association’s (NBA) 89th Annual Convention, Akin Gump international trade practice associate Michelle Mitchell was named among the recipients of that organization’s Trailblazers Under 40 Awards. According to the organization, the awards honor “legal trailblazers who have achieved prominence and distinction in their fields of endeavor … and who have demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing the goals and mission of the National Bar Association.”
In addition to maintaining a practice focused on the representation of multinational corporations on a range of trade and business-related laws and regulations, Ms. Mitchell also has a strong track record of pro bono work and public service. Among other distinctions, she has been named to the Lawyers of Color Inaugural Hot List which recognizes “early- to mid-career attorneys who are excelling in the legal profession,” was named to the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll for three consecutive years for contributing 50 hours or more to serving the legal needs of people living in poverty and has been selected for the “Washington Woman of Genius Award” by Trinity Washington University for “outstanding leadership in international law and pro bono legal services.”
