The Network Journal Names Jaelyn Edwards Judelson a 40 Under Forty Achievers Award Winner
(Los Angeles) – Jaelyn Edwards Judelson, counsel in the international trade practice at Akin Gump, has been selected by The Network Journal as one of its 40 Under Forty Achievers Award winners. Now in their 22nd year, the awards recognize those who share “a commitment to business growth and professional excellence and to the community.”
Ms. Judelson’s practice focuses particularly on advising technology and software companies. In the accompanying profile that ran with her recognition, she said she enjoys “helping clients to solve strategic trade issues that are not necessarily anticipated by the regulations.”
Ms. Judelson added that, as a child she wanted to be a surgeon, but changed her mind in college when she became “increasingly fascinated by the intersection between public policy, national security and global economics.” The experience, she said, crystallized for her “that a career in law would be the best way to further explore those professional interests.”
Ms. Judelson credits her years playing competitive soccer and studying in South Africa while in college as helping her to acquire the skills that serve her to this day. “The opportunity to travel and connect with different cultures from a young age through sports and educational opportunities expanded my ability to understand the perspectives of others and to see the world through a broader lens,” she explained. “I rely and continue to cultivate that skillset to deepen connections with clients and to creatively address evolving global legal challenges.”
The Network Journal is a quarterly print and online business magazine for black professionals and small business owners.
