The Russia Sanctions Amendment Regulations 2023 (No 2) came into force. An Additional 28 individuals and 14 entities were entered into the Schedule of sanctioned persons.
- 16 May 2024 (Switzerland):
The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs ("SECO") updated its FAQs in respect of sanctions against Russia. In addition, SECO issued standard templates for the reporting of deposits exceeding 100,000 Swiss francs, as well as restricting professional and business services and software.
- 15 May 2024 (Ukraine):

Ukraine withdrew from the Agreement of the Council of Heads of State participating in the Commonwealth of Independent States on the Armed Forces and Border Troops.

Ukraine withdrew from the Decision on the Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as further Decisions amending the former.
- 14 May 2024 (EU):
The European Union Commission published updated FAQs on media restrictions in relation to Article 2f of Council Regulation (EU) 833/2014 and Article 2 of Council Regulation (EU) 269/2014. Updates were made to four FAQs.
- 09 May 2024 (BIS):
The Akin Summary document has now been posted for this action.
The Bureau of Industry and Security ("BIS") added 37 entities to the Entity List, all under the destination of China. Six entities--AEE Shenzhen Yidian Aviation Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Zhongshang Dingsheng Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Yidian Technology Co., Ltd., CSIC Pride (Nanjing) Cryogenic Technology Co., Ltd., China Electronics Technology Group Corporation 45th Research Institute, and Ceyear Technologies Co., Ltd.--were added to the Entity List for their involvement in the shipment of export-controlled items to Russia since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
